Rocks Box Subscription Review

Hi Guys! I recently posted a photo featuring Rocks box and since I had never heard of it until recently, I wanted to explain a little more about what it’s all about.

When Rocks Box reached out to me, I’ll admit that I was a little bit skeptical. I have several sentimental pieces of jewelry and I don’t often accessorize as much as I’d like to. I decided to give it a shot and I was not disappointed. I love subscriptions. I have several. This one, is a little different!

Basically, Rocks Box is a monthly jewelry subscription where you pay $21 a month in exchange for 3 pieces of designer jewelry. Designers like Kendra Scott, Kate Spade, House of Harlow (to name a few) are all included in a “try before you buy” deal. You may keep the jewelry as long as you’d like and purchase whatever you want to keep.  You may receive two boxes in a month if you’d like just depending on when you send your jewelry back.

If you were to sign up it would go a little something like this.

Step 1. You log in and create your account using my code BRITTMFOGLEXOXO with this code you get your first box free. Click here for the direct link!

Step 2. You browse an enormous selection of jewelry and add various items to your wish list.

Step 3. A stylist is assigned to you. They review your wish list and survey about your jewelry tastes and they make a selection of 3 suitable pieces.

Step 4. You receive your items right on your door step in a beautiful box. The package you receive is resealable and the return label is provided in your box.

Step 5. TRY your pieces! You can style your jewelry and wear whatever you love. Decide that you love all 3 pieces? You get a discount for purchasing all 3! If you only one to keep one that’s okay too! Your $21 monthly credit is applied towards your purchase that month!

Step 6. Send back anything you decide you don’t want to keep in the box/packaging it came in with the label provided.

This month I received 2 pairs of earrings and one necklace. I was able to wear all three pieces and incorporate them into my closet. I love the idea that I can change-up my look without necessarily investing in every single piece. This will be especially great in the coming months as “wedding season” arrives. I can wear different statement pieces to each event!

Each month you may log in and add items to your wish list as they are constantly adding new designer pieces.

I’ve teamed up with Rocks Box to offer my subscribers their first month FREE. If you aren’t happy or if you decide the subscription isn’t for you, you may easily cancel with no charge to you at all. Rocks box has an awesome customer service department that will be glad to help you with any issues or concerns.

My Link for the free first month is here!!! but you may also use the code BRITTMFOGLEXOXO
I’ve really enjoyed this subscription so far, it has allowed me to accessorize with brands I normally would buy and Invest in pieces that I know will become stapes in my closet.

If you have any questions at all please feel free to comment below or message me and I’ll do my best to answer them! And if you decide to subscribe, I’d love to know what you think! 🙂

An Honest Review of Hello Fresh – from two Newly-weds!

Hi Guys and Happy Monday! Andy and I recently tried hello fresh and we wanted to share our experience.

We have lived together for several years now and I do the majority of the cooking. I normally don’t mind it too much and I actually have found that I’m pretty good at throwing things together and coming up with a yummy result. Andy does help and will cut/dice anything I need (He won’t let me use a knife, he says it scares him LOL) but for the most part I do the grocery shopping and I’m in charge of deciding dinner. I’m also a little more particular than he is and I like to decide what I’m going to eat where as he’s okay with whatever’s on the table.

Recently I’ve been so bored of cooking the same few recipes. I’ve gotten so sick of chicken. I’m bored with Salads. I’ve been reaching for whatever is easiest.

A Friend of mine posted that she had a voucher for a free week of meals for Hello Fresh and it seemed like a great time to give it a shot. I figured if we didn’t like it we could just cancel and there would be no harm, no foul. We loved it so much we decided to continue and I wanted to write an honest review for you all to decide if it might be right for your family also!

If you’re already excited, you may click here to use my referral and receive $40 off your first box making it just $19.95 for 3 meals for 2 people.

We selected the original plan for 2 people and we elected to receive 3 meals. You may also choose 4 but we did 3. This felt like it would work better for us since Andy sometimes works late and I like to do “anything days” which Is something that my mom used to do as we were growing up haha. Basically you’re on your own to find anything you want to eat in the house for dinner. Sometimes its Cereal, sometimes it’s a salad, sometimes it’s a handful of cheese its and a glass of wine – balance people.

Once you choose your meal plan, you may select your meals. I personally feel like there is a great selection and it does change each week. Unless you are super extremely picky, you will have options. Andy is not the biggest fan of fish, and that only took out 2 of the 10 options. Then you pick what day you’d like to receive them, we chose Monday but if Tuesday or Wednesday works better for you, you can do that too.

We selected our meals on Thursday and they arrived on our door step on Monday.

In the box, there were 3 paper bags on top of a large freezer pack with your meat below. Each paper bag includes all of the ingredients needed for each meal. You also receive recipes and nutrition information. The only items not included were olive oil, salt and pepper.

I promised an honest review so let’s get to the gist of it.

I’ll admit that I was slightly nervous. When the second meal we cooked called for an entire onion, I was really worried we were going to end up having to order a pizza instead. Also, I was worried the portions would be really small and Andy would still be hungry. But none of that was the case. We did leave the cilantro out of one of our meals (pork al mojo) but it was only a garnish in the rice so it didn’t affect the recipe much.

Each of our 3 meals were AMAZING and they involved so many ingredients we would never have purchased on our own. Not only that, but cooking this past week has felt less like a chore and more like a fun date night. On Wednesday when I knew Andy was working late, I started without him and he was genuinely disappointed.

I will say that they did take a bit longer than the recipe suggested but since we were talking and trying to figure out what the heck we were doing, it didn’t really matter. None of the recipes took over an hour.

Sometimes our weeks are so busy that we come home, go to the gym, cook, and have maybe an hour to ourselves before we need to get ready for bed so we can start it all over the next day. Cooking our Hello Fresh meals together made our night a little more enjoyable and it felt like we had more time together too even though we usually do cook together most days!

Today, Andy told me that the reason he loves these meals so much is that it levels the playing field for us. He’s not super comfortable in the kitchen (like I am) and normally we cook meals for recipes that I’ve found or that I’ve cooked before. All of these recipes are things that neither of us are familiar with and we’re trying for the first time.

For $60 you get 3 restaurant quality meals on your door step all made with organic and fresh ingredients. That’s $20 each night! Totally worth it. Each portion was filling and delicious and we couldn’t wait to pick out this week’s meals!

If all of this sounds amazing and you want to try it out for yourself, I’ve linked my referral again HERE.

I also have shared most of the process on my Instagram so you may follow me with this link and watch last week’s meals on my story. Here are some more photos of meals we’ve cooked so far.

If I failed to answer anything please feel free to comment below! Also, if you decide to give it a shot I’d love to hear what you think!! I hope you all have a Fantastic week!!!

 XO, Britt

Hi Guys and happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, with the super bowl yesterday I ate so much food and I thought what better way to start Monday off than to reflect on our recent experience at Tijuana Flats!

Andy and I attend a blogging event at Tijuana Flats last week and since it was my very first event, I was extremely nervous. I’m actually a little uncomfortable in new situations and I get shy meeting new people. That’s actually one of the reasons that I was drawn to blogging in the first place, I feel like I’m much better with my words on paper and I feel like blogging has already taken me so far out of my comfort zone! And I know that’s helping me to grow as a person.

ANYWAY- Back to the food. Andy and I attended the event to try the hidden menu and how to get it. I’m always trying new foods/things. If I see something new on the grocery store shelf I buy it so I was SO excited to try out this menu. And let’s be honest – I never say no to Mexican food.

These items are more easily available to Tijuana’s “Flatheads” which are what they call their email subscribers. You can click here to subscribe. They also give you a birthday gift and will let you know of any special events and coupons!!! Who doesn’t want a free appetizer?

The restaurant is a casual setting with a great atmosphere. The murals on the walls are insanely good!! and the ceiling tiles are available for you to take home and paint for them if you like. They also have a pretty neat selection of sauces. We tried several! Here are two of my favorites:

The first Item we were served was the beefy queso. It’s AMAZING. Seriously! This is their classic queso combined with beef. Its the perfect start to any Mexican dish. and middle. and end actually.

Next came the entrees:

Double Stack Cheesy Tacos – Soft tortilla drizzled in queso, wrapped around a hard shell, choice of protein and toppings

Atom Bombs – Lightly fried tortillas stuffed with cream cheese & fresh jalapeños. Served with a side of sour cream & Smack Sweet sauce

Mexican Pizza – Fried tortilla, red sauce, melted cheese, choice of protein and toppings

Then on to dessert:
Cookie Dough Flautas – “The Original” chocolate-chip-cookie dough loaded in a flour tortilla, lightly fried and topped with powdered sugar. Served with a side of chocolate syrup. I’m actually positive that I’ve never tasted anything as delicious as this dessert. I think I died and went to heaven mid bite.

Also, Who doesn’t love churros?

Andy and I will definitely be heading back as soon as possible!! This is a great casual place to grab a bite and you won’t be disappointed!!

Have you all every tried Tijuana Flats? I’d love to hear your thoughts and your favorite menu item!!!
