Hi Guys and happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, with the super bowl yesterday I ate so much food and I thought what better way to start Monday off than to reflect on our recent experience at Tijuana Flats!

Andy and I attend a blogging event at Tijuana Flats last week and since it was my very first event, I was extremely nervous. I’m actually a little uncomfortable in new situations and I get shy meeting new people. That’s actually one of the reasons that I was drawn to blogging in the first place, I feel like I’m much better with my words on paper and I feel like blogging has already taken me so far out of my comfort zone! And I know that’s helping me to grow as a person.

ANYWAY- Back to the food. Andy and I attended the event to try the hidden menu and how to get it. I’m always trying new foods/things. If I see something new on the grocery store shelf I buy it so I was SO excited to try out this menu. And let’s be honest – I never say no to Mexican food.

These items are more easily available to Tijuana’s “Flatheads” which are what they call their email subscribers. You can click here to subscribe. They also give you a birthday gift and will let you know of any special events and coupons!!! Who doesn’t want a free appetizer?

The restaurant is a casual setting with a great atmosphere. The murals on the walls are insanely good!! and the ceiling tiles are available for you to take home and paint for them if you like. They also have a pretty neat selection of sauces. We tried several! Here are two of my favorites:

The first Item we were served was the beefy queso. It’s AMAZING. Seriously! This is their classic queso combined with beef. Its the perfect start to any Mexican dish. and middle. and end actually.

Next came the entrees:

Double Stack Cheesy Tacos – Soft tortilla drizzled in queso, wrapped around a hard shell, choice of protein and toppings

Atom Bombs – Lightly fried tortillas stuffed with cream cheese & fresh jalapeños. Served with a side of sour cream & Smack Sweet sauce

Mexican Pizza – Fried tortilla, red sauce, melted cheese, choice of protein and toppings

Then on to dessert:
Cookie Dough Flautas – “The Original” chocolate-chip-cookie dough loaded in a flour tortilla, lightly fried and topped with powdered sugar. Served with a side of chocolate syrup. I’m actually positive that I’ve never tasted anything as delicious as this dessert. I think I died and went to heaven mid bite.

Also, Who doesn’t love churros?

Andy and I will definitely be heading back as soon as possible!! This is a great casual place to grab a bite and you won’t be disappointed!!

Have you all every tried Tijuana Flats? I’d love to hear your thoughts and your favorite menu item!!!
